CHILDCARE
Since I began babysitting in 2007, I have learned that childcare is one of the rare jobs that gets me excited about work every day. I love being invited into kids' imaginary play worlds and am happy to spend hours building lego houses or reading picture books.
Prior to graduate school, I worked as a nanny for a sweet baby from age 3 to 12 months and got to experience so many of his exciting benchmarks -- from crawling to teething to walking. Before that, I was a nanny for two amazing families with kindergarteners, preschoolers, and infants who hired me to provide after-school activities like nature walks, arts and crafts, early math and reading games, baking projects, and homework help. It is a gift to have played a role in helping my kids grow and learn during those years.
I am now seeking childcare work in the Germantown / Mount Airy areas! The best fit will be a family with strong social justice values who has consistent, well-defined COVID boundaries (including vaccinated adults when possible) and who prefers spending time off-screen. In addition to childcare, I can offer light housework and enjoy helping out with grocery shopping and cooking as needed. Interested? Contact me!
